Exhibition “Who let the dogs in“

In Tin’s first solo exhibition, “Who let the dogs in,” the dogs are released from Västerbotten and introduced to Tin’s hometown, Stockholm. This exhibition serves as a first introduction to both Tin and the dogs that are central to the artist’s work. It showcases a wide variety of dogs in different materials and expressions. The exhibition includes pieces from Tin’s degree work at the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts, where the artist received their bachelor’s degree in June 2024, as well as works created before their time at the Academy. All these dogs are now included as they are “let into” Stockholm for the first time.

Artist Tin Åling

Tin Åling (born 1999, Stockholm) received their bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts in 2024. Tin has a strong interest in people and their behavior, particularly in interactions with others and themselves. In her artwork, Tin uses dogs to imitate human situations as a way to understand, decode, and approach their own reality. Tin’s works are characterized by stylistic simplicity and bright colors, where contemporary life is both softened and satirized. Here, human behavior is dissected and simplified to be highlighted. By creating a parallel reality where dogs take center stage and humans are absent, Tin still manages to make humans the central subject of her work.
